CMA Cookbook

Hello Everyone,

"Let's put together a CMA cookbook!!!"

I have heard that said many times over the past several years but it seems the idea had never caught on. Well - it has now. Our plan is to put together a cookbook of our favorite recipes and include a short paragraph or two of where the recipe came from; seasonal placement; family traditions involving the recipe; as well as legends or myths surrounding the recipe.

Once completed, we plan to sell the cookbook as a fundraising idea for our beloved organization and use those funds for the benefit of all our members.

Please keep in mind that we plan to sell the book within our community as well as to the general population (Greater Mundania). Consequently, any recipe submission should not contain any information you would not want published. NO ONES NAME WILL BE USED - guarding the privacy of our membership is of utmost importance to us. Consequently, please provide a "nom de plume" (pen name) or tell us you want to submit it as "Anonymous". If in doubt, the recipe will be identified as "Anonymous"

Note: we have discussed the possibility of having a pagan-specific supplement that would include ritual foods, etc... If you like that idea as much as I, then please submit those recipes as well.

If possible, please include a photograph of the completed recipe with your submission. It is not required, but it would be nice to try and include as many colorful pictures/graphics as possible in our cookbook.

You collect and send us the recipes, we will do the rest! Send as many as you would like - there is no limit to how many recipes you can send us.

Please submit your recipes by August 31st 2010 to give our volunteers time to typeset and print out enough books for sale by Samhain 2010 (Oct 14th - 17th). We do not have a complete idea of the price of the cookbook as yet. It will depend upon the cost of printing - and that will depend upon the number of recipes (pages) we have submitted as well as the number of graphics.

Separately from the printed book, we will be selling a CD with an E-version of our cookbook for a discounted rate. This is for those who wish to print the book themselves or simply prefer an electronic medium.

If you would like to submit a recipe, please place it into an email and send it to us at cookbook@spirithaven.org Please include the name of the recipe in the Subject line of the email.

I feel this will be a fun and exciting project for everyone!

Smiles,

Mary Ellen Rainwater
Assistant Executive Director, CMA
